Sheltering Hope is a national awareness and donation campaign developed by First Onsite Property Restoration in Canada in partnership with Happy Days Sanctuary, a Niagara Region non-profit that rescues and rehabilitates animals impacted by disasters.
When people think of property restoration, they most immediately think of physical structures, but behind every damaged property are people and sometimes pets and livestock who have been impacted, too.
The First Onsite team found it a natural decision to collaborate with Happy Days Sanctuary, given the organization’s commitment to rescuing animals affected by disasters such as wildfires and floods—situations with which First Onsite has significant experience.
“While weather-related catastrophes can be devastating, we find hope in the many dedicated people who work tirelessly to rescue and care for what’s closest to our hearts when we’re unable to,” said Shane Swinson, Executive Vice President, Insurance Portfolio at First Onsite. “Supporting a sanctuary like Happy Days helps First Onsite reconnect with the compassion and healing that follows a disaster. It’s personal.”The Sheltering Hope Campaign aims to raise $10,000 for Happy Days Sanctuary, which the company will do a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000 CAD, bringing the total to $20,000. These much-needed funds will help further Happy Days’ mission of providing temporary shelter to animals in need, ensuring veterinary care, food and comfort are provided, supporting adoption and reunification efforts and providing community education and outreach programs.
Canadian donors will automatically receive a stylish First Onsite branded pet bandana and a pet rescue sticker for their window. These promo items are also available to Canadian residents by request. Be sure to follow First Onsite’s social media accounts for information on how to request yours!*
First Onsite’s commitment to this cause extends beyond fundraising. Team members have embraced the opportunity to support the sanctuary’s work and devoted volunteer time to deliver supplies and help with the myriad of tasks associated with caring for the animals on the farm. Volunteers are always welcome at Happy Days Sanctuary. If this sounds like something that interests you, please contact the Happy Days to learn how you can lend a hand.*Offer not available to First Onsite employees.
