Summer of Service Activity Challenge Winners

Every summer, our Summer of Service initiative inspires team members to give back and foster a spirit of community. Over the past months, we’ve witnessed countless acts of kindness, whether through company-sponsored activities or personal outreach.

Our team members are challenged to participate in our Activity Challenges, which include things like our Random Acts of Kindness Bingo, which features simple yet impactful ways for anyone to make a difference. Participants can also complete Action Challenges by creating a Volunteer Hub account, signing up for events, sharing their Summer of Service experiences, recognizing colleagues, or posting about their involvement on social media.

Prizes and Recognition

Each month, we randomly select winners from the Activity Challenges to receive a gift certificate for the Summer of Service Pop-Up Shop. Plus, one lucky winner has the opportunity to select a charity to receive a $500 donation made in their honor!

Say hello to this month’s winners!

August’s Charity Donation Winner

Amanda Coleman, FirstService Residential

“I am thrilled to designate Shih Tzu Rescue as the recipient of the $500 charity donation. I was introduced to this amazing rescue group by my colleague Michelle Aaron, who volunteers and fosters older or special needs pups in their care. Though they primarily focus on Shih Tzus, they also take in a variety of other breeds, tirelessly working to match each dog with the perfect forever home.Three years ago, I tragically lost my dog and was hesitant to adopt again. Michelle encouraged me to look at the dogs available for adoption, and I found that Shih Tzu Rescue had several larger breeds needing homes. That’s when I met Cookie, who had been in their care for years. She has brought so much joy into my life, and I have been donating to Shih Tzu Rescue as much as possible to support their mission.

Most of the dogs they rescue are surrenders and they provide necessary medical care, spaying/neutering, and vaccinations. Donations are vital to their operations, especially for smaller, specialized organizations like this one. For the past three years, I have also volunteered with the Humane Society of Broward County for the Summer of Service. It’s incredibly rewarding, and the volunteer spots fill up quickly each year.

Thank you again for this opportunity. I look forward to seeing the donation make a positive impact on the lives of the dogs at Shih Tzu Rescue.”
