Help When Life Takes an Unexpected Turn

An unexpected hardship can affect more than your peace of mind—it can quickly create expenses you weren’t prepared for. The FirstService Relief Fund is here to help eligible team members and their families when certain unforeseen events create financial hardship.

Relief Fund grants are financial assistance, not loans, and do not need to be repaid. Depending on the circumstances, assistance may help with expenses such as:

• Serious illness or injury: Medical expenses not covered by insurance, prescription medications, travel for medical care or other essential costs.
• Death of a loved one: Funeral or burial expenses and travel to attend the funeral of an eligible immediate family member.
• Natural disasters: Evacuation expenses, temporary essential needs, food or clothing, and certain costs resulting from hurricanes, floods, wildfires and other disasters.
• Damage to your primary residence: Certain essential expenses following a fire, flood or other life-altering event not covered by insurance.
• Domestic abuse or violent crime: Assistance with eligible expenses that arise when you or an eligible dependent is impacted.
• Other unexpected hardships: Certain expenses associated with military deployment and other qualifying events may also be eligible.

Eligible expenses can also include rent or mortgage assistance, essential utilities, unforeseen childcare costs, transportation and other immediate necessities when they result from a qualifying event.
