Social Purpose Update & Upcoming Events

We wanted to share some Social Purpose initiatives and events you’ll be hearing more about in the coming weeks and months.

Relief Fund Awareness Campaign

Our Social Purpose Awareness Campaigns group is finalizing details on our inaugural, four-part Relief Fund Awareness Campaign.
Purpose:

  • Raise awareness of the Relief Fund throughout all levels of our organization.
  • Highlight testimonials from grant recipients.
  • Encourage increased participation in the fund through applications and donations.

Each of our brands’ Social Purpose Champions will be receiving a four-part series of content including a video created from actual Relief Fund grant recipient testimonials, and a four-part content package which answers the questions of What, When and How to apply for a Relief Fund grant. Every company’s distribution schedule will be different but be on the lookout for details from your team!

PawsFirst Pet Photo Contest

Following the success of last year’s pet photo contest, the group is hosting another photo contest this fall, launch date TBD. If you are a pet parent or just someone who loves animals, now’s the time to go through the hundreds of pet pix on your phone and choose which one you wish to enter! This year’s content will work much like last year’s — $5 to enter, and each vote will cost $1 – with the winners determining which charity to donate funds raised to.

Stay tuned for more information and details on other surprises the group has in store for you!

Employer of Choice Working Group

This group has been focused on increasing engagement in Social Purpose and has seen a rise in interest in team-building activities. To help with activity planning, we’d love to hear your ideas on things you’d like to see in your Social Purpose program. Let us know at socialpurpose@firstservice.com.

Upcoming Events

9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs

The NFFF 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs are a way to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live on September 11, 2001. Each participant pays tribute to an FDNY firefighter by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of an FDNY brother, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others. Through firefighter and community participation, we can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters is honored and that the world knows we will never forget.
