Kim Hart

Regional Director, FirstService Residential

On June 13th, over a dozen FirstService Residential Illinois associates donated their time to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children. The Illinois Chapter of Community Association Institute (CAI) hosted this event for 300 people. At the end of the shift, we had packed 49,680 meals, which is enough to feed one meal to 136 kids for an entire year. All meals are provided to children in need throughout the world.

Central Park is a 55+ community we manage in Carol Stream, IL. Each year a group of owners volunteers at the Northern Illinois Food Bank. While attending one of their Board Meetings, they were looking for volunteers. I asked if I could join them. We packed 5lb bags of onions. At the end of our shift, we packed 4,215 lbs of onions!! It was great fun!JTVCc21hcnRzbGlkZXIzJTIwc2xpZGVyJTNEJTIyNSUyMiU1RA==

Marisa Wilson

Communications and Engagement Intern, FirstService Residential

On my very first day at FirstService Residential, I walked in to find a beautifully decorated desk waiting for me. There was a welcome note, thoughtful touches, and a sense that I was truly wanted on this team. That small gesture said everything about my manager, Kaitlin Buccheri, who has made this internship one of the most impactful experiences of my life.

She’s not only been my mentor, but my teacher, advocate, and biggest supporter. She gave me the opportunity to design t-shirts for one of our largest events, trusted me to attend and contribute at the Northeast LEADS Summit, and constantly encouraged me to bring my ideas to the table. Being her right hand this summer has been a privilege.

She leads with kindness, creativity, and an unmatched commitment to making this company better every single day. She supports everyone around her, always looks for ways to serve others, and brings a contagious energy that lifts the whole room. I’ve learned so much simply by watching her in action.

This is what it means to #FirstServeOthers, and I’m proud to share her story.

Tracy Day

LCAM, FirstService Residential

My parents say I’ve always been a giver with a huge heart, even as a child I was always defending and helping kids that were not as fortunate as myself. My mom said, “You’ve always tried to see the good in people your whole life. That’s both a blessing and curse.” I can’t help it I like helping and giving back when people need it. I’m a huge animal lover and donate to many causes, such as turtle sanctuaries and lion rescues. I like to make my staff laugh or just make their day brighter. I bring them snacks and food to thank you for all their hard work. I try to let people around me know how much I appreciate them and all they do. As a manager I’m not afraid to jump in and help in other departments whenever needed. We have an amazing team at Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach. 🙂

Operations Coordinator, Davco Roofing and Sheet Metal, LLC

I’ve always been really passionate about volunteering and doing random acts of kindness. This bingo card was a lot of fun to be able to participate in. I’m glad my company is very active in helping our communities. That speaks measures, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

This past week, we had the opportunity to team up with Food for Families to help package meals for neighbors in need. Food for Families, a local nonprofit based in Indian Trail, is dedicated to easing hunger for families, children, and seniors across Union and surrounding counties since 2012. Giving back to the community means a lot to us at Davco, and we’re always grateful for the chance to lend a hand where it’s needed most. (we also have this uploaded on our social media with the #FirstServeOthers)

More info on Food for Families:

They transitioned from a small operation to an established nonprofit with our own facility, serving over 2,500 + each week. In addition to their weekend backpack program, FFF now participates in a government subsidized food program (TEFAP), hosts multiple monthly mobile drive through pantries, helps to stock a free food pantry at a local university, and provides small nutritional bags of food for seniors.JTVCc21hcnRzbGlkZXIzJTIwc2xpZGVyJTNEJTIyNiUyMiU1RA==

Shelly Woods

Sales & Marketing Associate, California Closets

Our team at California Closets Connecticut contributed bedroom closets for four townhomes (12 closets total) to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County. The home dedication was held on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Being involved in an organization that helps turn the dreams of home-ownership into reality was truly a remarkable experience. It was a privilege to assist these families, and seeing the genuine joy of the new homeowners truly touched our hearts.
