How I #FirstServeOthers

For our 2021 Social Purpose Recap Video we took a different approach than in year’s past. This time we sought testimonials from our own team members sharing how and why they #FirstServeOthers. It was inspiring to hear from them, in their own voices and words. It has also given us some ideas of ways we can pursue our individual Social Purpose missions on our own or with friends and colleagues.

Daniel Diaz, from CertaPro, is passionate about helping children in the foster care system. More than 250,000 children are placed into foster care in the United States each year, and sadly, as they “age out” of the system, many lack the tools and support to help them transition into adulthood. Forgotten Angels is a Florida non-profit whose mission is to help kids in foster care prepare for brighter futures.

First Onsite’s Donna Meyer is an animal lover who devotes her free time volunteering for NYC-area animal rescue groups. In addition to opening her home to foster pets she also helps transport pets to veterinary appointments and is active with TNR – trap, neuter and release – in an effort to help control the homeless pet overpopulation.

“I believe all creatures deserve kindness and a shot at life. That’s why it’s so important to me to #FirstServeOthers,” says Donna.

Anna Chow is another First Onsite team member who share her story with us. At the start of the pandemic, when PPE supplies were in short supply, she identified a need to provide them to front line healthcare workers. She and her friends made it their mission to source and deliver this lifesaving equipment to healthcare workers.
