Blue Goose, which hosts an annual golf tournament that alternates between Calgary and Edmonton, wished to honor Tracy’s memory in a special way after her passing in November 2023. The tournament organizers approached William Elliott with a heartfelt request: could they rename the tournament in Tracy’s honor? Thus, the Tracy Irving Memorial Golf Tournament was born.
Tracy and her friend and colleague Robin Chuchmuch, First Onsite’s commercial business development manager – Prairies, had hosted the tournament in 2022. They had dedicated the proceeds from that event to Saving Grace Animal Rescue, an organization dear to Tracy’s heart. It was only fitting that the inaugural tournament named in her honor would once again support this worthy cause.
“Tracy was truly an inspirational leader in the insurance industry. I met her in the early days of my career in restoration and I always looked up to her,” said Robin. “Being able to co-host the Blue Goose tournament with her in 2022 was an honor and something I will never forget.”
“Tracy truly believed in the Blue Goose, community, and charity. She volunteered at the Calgary Women’s Shelter and raised funds for numerous animal rescues,” said William. “This event was a fantastic way to honor an amazing person.”
The event brought together 125 friends, colleagues, and supporters, all united in celebrating Tracy’s legacy and her commitment to the community. The successful tournament not only honored Tracy’s memory but also continued her tradition of giving back, with proceeds going to Saving Grace Animal Rescue.
As the first of many, the Tracy Irving Memorial Golf Tournament stands as a testament to Tracy’s passion, generosity, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.
