Jolt of Joy: 700 Handwritten Cards, 20 Locations, Countless Smiles

This year, during our Annual Vertical Summits from April through August, our associates came together for a meaningful initiative during one of our meeting sessions that took place during each Summit we called “Jolt of Joy.”

Across eight Summits, we dedicated a few minutes during each event for associates to handwrite personal, uplifting messages to senior citizens living in nursing homes across the country—many of whom may be isolated or without regular visitors.

Over the course of a few months, we collected and sent 700 heartfelt notecards to 20 different nursing home locations.

During our Summer of Service “Jolt of Joy” sessions on July 10, 22, 24, and August 7, alone, 363 cards were written and distributed to 11 of those locations.

These small messages served as reminders to the recipients that they are seen, valued, and remembered. A few kind words can make a big difference—and through “Jolt of Joy,” we shared just that: moments of peace, connection, and happiness with those who need it most.Submitted by Kaitlin Buccheri, senior communications & engagement manager
