Why Beach Cleanups Matter: Protecting Our Shores, Wildlife, and Communities

Volunteer team of beach cleaners from FirstService Residential

Keeping beaches clean is important for more reasons than just making them more enjoyable for visitors. Clean beaches also help maintain the safety and health of our oceans and shorelines. They prevent sea animals from getting tangled in trash or swallowing plastic, make beaches safer and cleaner for people, and help stop pollution from spreading. Additionally, they bring communities together and raise awareness about how our everyday choices impact the planet.

Recently, a team of 50+ volunteers from FirstService Residential in Houston joined with  CAI’s Houston Chapter for the 4th Annual Beach Cleanup in Galveston!

Thanks to Beth Liles, business development director, FirstService Residential Houston for sharing details of this event with us.
