How I #FirstServeOthers

Our desire to help those in need runs deep throughout our organization. Whether participating in activities with our colleagues, on our own, or with family and friends, we each have a Social Purpose story that’s as unique as we are. Here are just some of the reasons why we #FirstServeOthers.

Floor Coverings International

The team at Floor Coverings International is passionate about supporting local causes, and can often be found donning aprons and oven mitts as they work together to prepare meals for the folks at Champions Place, Central Night Shelter and Solidarity Sandy Springs.

Donna Meyer - First Onsite - Director of Client Services

Donna’s Social Purpose is helping those without a voice. She spends much of her free time helping homeless pets find their forever homes through fostering and animal transport. She works with several rescue groups to transport homeless pets to veterinary appointments and even to their new homes. Through her work as a TNR (trap, neuter, release) activist she helps ensure feral and stray animals don’t reproduce and further add to the overpopulation of homeless pets.

Todd Allen - LIVunLtd. - Fitness & Wellness Director

Todd Allen and his team program special fitness and wellness classes to raise awareness and funds for causes that are important to them, including Trinity Place Shelter, The Trevor Project, the ACLU, the Equal Justice Initiative, and many others.

Daniel Diaz - CertaPro Painters - Commercial Field Operations Manager

Did you know that over 250,000 children are placed in foster care each year? And more than 20,000 will “age out,” meaning they will become too old to remain in state care. Daniel’s passion is an organization called Forgotten Angels, a non-profit that provides assistance to foster children who are aging out of the foster care system or come from difficult family situations and need a helping hand. The organization believes that all children in and aging out of foster care deserve a chance.

September 2025

As FirstService’s Summer of Service campaign winds down, we highlight key community initiatives from our North American teams. These include FirstService Residential’s toy drive with CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish, First Onsite’s Sheltering Hope animal aid, California Closets’ “Care Closet” for foster families, and Paul Davis’ ongoing blood donation efforts. We also celebrate FirstService Residential’s South Region HQ achieving WELL Certified™ Gold, the East Region’s “Jolt of Joy” project delivering 700 cards to seniors, and feature Leukemia Awareness Month with ways to support lifesaving research. These activities demonstrate our commitment to compassion, collaboration, and service.
