July Summer of Service Winner Supports Colleague Through Light The Night

Every act of service shared during our Summer of Service earns points—and every point becomes an entry into our monthly drawing to direct a $500 donation to a charity of the winner’s choice. This month, congratulations go to Donna Seelman, whose many acts of service throughout the summer earned her the winning entry.

Donna chose to direct the donation to the First Onsite Canada Light The Night Team, supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) in honor of her colleague and friend, Todd Yeun, as he continues his courageous fight against leukemia.

“Todd’s resilience, courage, and positivity have inspired so many of us,” Donna shared. “Supporting this cause is a meaningful way to stand alongside him and his family.”

For Donna, the donation represents more than financial support—it reflects the strength of the First Onsite community.

“What makes this initiative especially meaningful is that, while Todd is based in Vancouver and I’m in Toronto, his journey has united colleagues across the country,” she said. “It’s a powerful reminder that no matter where we are, we come together to support one another when it matters most. Together we rise!”

First Onsite Canada has proudly partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada through Light The Night, an annual fundraising campaign that brings communities together to fund life-saving blood cancer research, provide patient support programs, and offer resources for families facing a blood cancer diagnosis. The campaign culminates in inspiring fall events across Canada where participants carry illuminated lanterns to celebrate survivors, honor loved ones, and stand in solidarity with those affected by blood cancers.

Donna was quick to recognize the broader impact of the partnership.

“This cause is especially meaningful because it reflects the strength of community and the support we can provide during life’s most challenging moments. Through its partnership with LLSC, First Onsite Canada is helping fund critical blood cancer research, patient support programs, and resources for families affected by these illnesses.”

Congratulations, Donna, and thank you for demonstrating how one person’s commitment to serving others can help bring hope to colleagues, families, and communities.
