We are grateful for our Relief Fund grant recipients who willingly share their stories with us. We’ve been featuring them in our Spotlight newsletters as a way to raise awareness of the Relief Fund and of some of the circumstances under which a team member may apply for assistance.
Here’s a recent story from one of our recipients:
“I was diagnosed with HIV 10 years ago and had always received government aid in my home state for my medications but after relocating to another state, getting married and getting on my husband’s health insurance, we quickly discovered that they no longer covered my medication which costs $3,700 a month (we paid it twice). After learning from HR that I could apply for this grant, I was able to receive tremendous help in about a month.
I started donating to the Relief Fund prior to my move and never in a million years thought I would be the one to ask for help but it’s cool to know that I was able to donate funds to help people in the height of the pandemic and then when I needed help, the company and Relief Fund were there for me.
Thank you so much! I recommend everyone contribute at least one dollar per paycheck as I did because it’s not much, but if enough of us do it, it can potentially make a huge difference for someone.”
