Rotary is best known for its commitment to Service Above Self, bringing together community leaders to create positive change around the world. While Rotary’s service projects, humanitarian efforts, and community partnerships are well known, one of its most important investments is in the development of young people. Rotary Youth Exchange gives students the opportunity to live and study abroad while experiencing new cultures, languages, and perspectives. Local Rotary chapters sponsor Interact Clubs for young people 12–18 to develop leadership skills while serving their communities. Through Interact they identify local needs, organize service projects, and learn the importance of team work and civic engagement. The Rotary Youth Ambassador programs encourage young leaders to represent Rotary and promote service initiatives, while the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program empowers students through hands-on challenges, inspiring speakers, and leadership development experiences.
