Roofing Corp of America Volunteers with Atlanta Community Food Bank

Kudos to the Roofing Corp of America team who recently participated in a volunteer activity at the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). The team spent a great morning working alongside other volunteers who shared their commitment to helping families facing food insecurity across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

Through their collective efforts, 18,000 pounds of food were collected, which equates to 15,000 meals for needy families.

Food insecurity is a global issue, and in Georgia, 14.9% of people (about 1 in 7) are food insecure. This equals an estimated 1,643,270 people, according to Feeding America, Map the Meal Gap 2023 statistics. Approximately 16.5% of children in the ACFB service area are food insecure.

The ACFB provides critical services in the area and works with 700+ nonprofit partner agencies to distribute food across 29 counties. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, ACFB distributed nearly 112 million meals, and in FY2025, volunteers contributed 43,000+ volunteer visits and 140,409+ donated hours to support the mission.

“Volunteering – especially at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, is always a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness can and do make a difference,” said Ashley Aldridge, director of human resources. “Not only do we get to spend special time with each other, but we also take a lot of pride in giving back to our local community in a real meaningful way.  Food insecurity is so sad and very real.  It’s a humbling and rewarding experience for us all.”

We’re proud of our RCA team for showing up and helping keep food moving to neighbors who need it.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider volunteering, donating, or organizing a team service day—small actions add up to a big impact. Our Summer of Service begins June 1 – why not plan a service day at your local food bank this summer?
