February 2022 Spotlight

Our Social Purpose mission continues to thrive because of the contributions our teams make to our communities, our environment and to each other. In this issue of Spotlight, we will give you a glimpse at just some of their stories. Learning how our teams #FirstServeOthers in support of issues and causes that inspire them is inspiring to us too!

July 2021 Spotlight

In this issue of Spotlight, we introduce you to Volunteer Hub, a new volunteer management portal we are using to help organize and communicate about events. We are sharing ideas of ways our companies are shining a light on important social issues and bringing teams together by launching activities tied to awareness months. As our Social Purpose activities begin to ramp up, you might find yourself wanting to get involved in your community right now, so we have provided some ideas and links to online resources to help you get started. We also remember our colleague and friend David Epstein, who has been part of the FirstService family since 1984 and tragically lost his life in the Surfside building collapse.

March 2021 Spotlight

In this issue of Spotlight we will explore strategies for maintaining a healthy work/life balance during these unprecedented times when the balance feels more like a work/life blur for many of us. One of the strategies we share is directly related to our Social Purpose, and the positive effects giving back has on our emotional wellbeing. We also address common questions about the FirstService Relief Fund and COVID assistance, grant application document requirements and tax information for Relief Fund donors.

July 2020 Spotlight

Welcome to the latest edition of Spotlight! In this issue, we are highlighting some of the innovative ways our teams are connecting with colleagues and customers in light of the challenges brought on by the pandemic. From culture building activities, to adapting service through the use of virtual tools, our teams put safety at the forefront of everything they do, and are discovering new ways to engage now and in the future. We are also looking at social injustice, starting with ways to identify our own implicit biases and the importance of listening to the stories of those whose life experiences may be different from ours. We have curated a selection of resources designed to educate and inform, and have also provided links to tools parents can use to have conversations about race with their children.

March 2020 Spotlight

We established the FirstService Relief Fund so we could provide support to our people during times of personal financial hardship. In this issue of Spotlight, we will share important information about the FirstService Relief Fund and why amplifying awareness of it is so important if we are to help as many of as our people as we can during their times of need. You’ll find links to helpful resources you can choose to use in your offices to increase awareness and also some fun fundraising ideas you can implement right away.

October 2019 Spotlight

Welcome to latest edition of Spotlight, which is focused on Our Community, the second of our three pillars of Social Purpose. Improving the communities where we live, work and play is a shared focus of our companies, and a commitment we demonstrate each and every day. In this issue, we are highlighting some creative ways our teams are building awareness of Social Purpose and shining a light on causes and issues that resonate with them.
